Global simulation : Ekman + Geostrophic transport

Global simulation including Ekman and geostrophic transport. Created using the Ocean Parcels framework (https://oceanparcels.org/) The simulation was started with a uniform input distribution, with particles every 1 degree (34,515 particles total). All particle remained at the surface with no loss/beaching/resuspension added in. Just the transport by the surface ocean currents was used. The ocean currents data source is the globcurrent reanalysis data (http://www.globcurrent.org/). The simulation timestep (dt) is 30 seconds and the simulation ran for 12 years (2002-2014).
